Makalu Expedition

Makalu is the world’s fifth highest mountain at 8,485 meters (27,838 feet), known
for its sharp pyramid shape and challenging climbing routes. This expedition
offers a mix of remote wilderness trekking and serious high-altitude
mountaineering, perfect for experienced climbers seeking adventure away from
the busier Everest region.

We’ll pick you up and take you to your hotel.
Relax and get ready for the trip.

Day 02 :
Trip Preparation, Briefing & Welcome Dinner

Attend the expedition briefing.
Prepare your gear and paperwork.
Enjoy a welcome dinner with the team.

Day 03 :
Fly to Tumlingtar & Drive to Num Village

Fly to Tumlingtar.
Drive to the village of Num.
Overnight stay in Num.

Day 04 :
Trek from Num to Seduwa

Start trekking from Num to Seduwa.
Enjoy the scenic trail.

Day 05 :
Trek from Seduwa to Tashi Gaon

Continue trekking to Tashi Gaon village.

Day 06 :
Trek from Tashi Gaon to Kauma

Walk through forests and villages to Kauma.

Day 07 :
Acclimatization Day in Kauma

Rest and acclimatize.
Optional short hike around Kauma.

Day 08 :
Trek from Kauma to Khongma

Trek through beautiful terrain to Khongma.

Day 09 :
Trek from Khongma to Mumbuk

Continue trekking to Mumbuk village.

Day 10 :
Trek from Mumbuk to Neh Kharka

Hike onward to Neh Kharka.

Day 11 :
Trek from Neh Kharka to Sherson

Trek through mountain trails to Sherson.

Day 12 :
Trek from Sherson to Makalu Base Camp

Reach Makalu Base Camp, your climbing start point.

Day 13-42 :
Makalu Climbing Period

Spend this time climbing and acclimatizing.
Attempt the summit and return to Base Camp safely.

Day 43 :
Trek Back to Neh Kharka

Begin trekking down to Neh Kharka.

Day 44 :
Trek from Neh Kharka to Mumbuk

Continue descent to Mumbuk.

Day 45 :
Trek from Mumbuk to Kauma

Trek back to Kauma.

Day 46 :
Trek from Kauma to Tashi Gaon

Continue trekking down to Tashi Gaon.

Day 47 :
Trek from Tashi Gaon to Seduwa

Trek back to Seduwa.

Day 48 :
Trek from Seduwa to Num & Drive to Tumlingtar

Finish trekking at Num.
Drive back to Tumlingtar.

Day 49 :
Flight Back to Kathmandu & Hotel Transfer

Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu.
Transfer to your hotel.

Day 50 :
Free Day to Explore or Relax in Kathmandu

Enjoy a day off to sightsee, shop, or rest.

Day 51 :
Departure Day

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
